black flicker happens once in a while..

so when im playing a game say gran turismo 5 i play for a while then the game randomly flickers a black screen for about 2 seconds then goes away and never comes back. and this always happens when im playing. its not bothering me while im playing but im just a bit concerned at what it is. and my ps3 was at the xmb and it flickered there to. any idea to what that is..?

Try replacing your hdmi cable with another. Mine was doing that at one point in time. I switched hdmi cables and I haven't seen it since (except when mounting a game in multiman, but that's not random).
