AVRKey

I bought an AVRKey on this sight I think a month back and realized my PS3 was at 3.42, so I thought I'd wait a bit and see what comes up. I bought a downgrader just now and I want to prepare the usb but I havent the slightest clue where to start.
Could someone point me in the right direction? Everywhere I look it all seems so complicated. I dont even know any details on the USB I bought, I just know its this one:

EDIT: My bad, I didn't specify, I want to prep the dongle for the Jailbreak. I want to put the software on it I need to do it =)

What downgrader did you buy? As far as I know none are compatible with the AVRKey as of yet. You'll have to wait for someone to release a downgrader for AT90USB devices.

I bought the E3 Card Reader.
I'm really new to all of this, much more difficult than the psp hahaha
What exactly is the AVRKey for? I thought I would have to put the Jailbreak software on it and load it on the PS3(After downgrading with the E3 card reader) Is there more to it than that?

Also, if there is an easier method, like altogether getting a different dongle, which should I get?
PS3Break seems like it has an easy and detailed setup

Honestly all the USB dongles work exactly the same, other than updating them etc.

The E3 Card Reader works just fine as a downgrader and then as a jailbreak device. You don't even need the AVRKey.

Wow thats good news then lol
Though that means I wasted some money =\
So, based on my understanding, the instructions there are for how to downgrade, right? After using it as a downgrader(The E3), how would I run it as a jailbreak device? Or does that occur with the downgrade? After that how would I get it to run back ups?
Sorry for all the stupid questions...I am really new to all of this.

I'm not sure on how to switch the E3 to and from downgrade mode as I don't have one. I'm sure some quick googling will answer that question.

Once you're ps3 is jailbroken though, simply load the .pkg file of your manager of choice from this site onto a usb drive and install it through the install pkg file option under games.

As for the AVRKey, I think I have it figured out too, I didn't know I had to figure out the chip type, ATMEGA32U2, and then I needed to get flip for it, find the vista drivers for it because flip only had the XP drives, and get the hex files for it from:

Thankfully it was on the list =)
Am I better off using the Hermes, Kakaroto, or the hybrid though?
Essentially is there really a difference?
I do realize google can probably come up with the answers but I'd rather not sift through the crap results..Its much easier to just ask people who might already know, or who can point me to the answer =)
