hi there, I'm new here, and was referred here from another site.

I am building a wooden box to house my ps3, mostly just because i can.

I could do alot of paperwork and drawings and guess work, which would make things a pita, and i've already kind of done.

however, before i start buying and cutting materials, i would like to draw this up in autocad so as to plan how i want to cut the plank (it's 11&3/8 in x 8ft x 7/8 in) and not make wasteful cuts.

Would any of you have or know where to get CAD renderings of the ps3 mainboard, psu, bddrive, etc.?

    thanks in advance

I'll assume im the only one here who knows what the word AutoCad is, ive only used Autocad like twice but i ust stick to Maya

But i feel a big ignorant towards your question What are you looking for exactly? Like Vector renderings, Something like this: (Example) http://www.the-blueprints.com/vector.../538/sony_psp/ but of a ps3 and its internal files?

Or Are you looking for the model itself?

I wish i knew the native properties of every software

like a 3d rendering of the mainboard and other internal components...
    like this, cept internal parts

    http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_d...product=259223

something basic would be fine, just the shapes with correct dimensions and such.

    Ohh

Well theres a very high chance that only Sony has Renderings of the mainboard and other internal components (For prototype and testing purposes) theres like a 90/10 chance its out there on the net though

you can search and search but heres not the best place to ask id say the best place to ask would be cgsociety.org but chances are still slim

You trying to be a bit arrogant???

I have spent years working with Autocad.

I don't really see what Autocad could do (in this situation) that a tape measure couldn't do.

    As the old saying goes:
Measure twice, cut once. Simple as that.

I prefer to measure 3 or 4 times (these old eyes are starting to get a bit rusty at times).
I would much rather go to my grave not needing my gun, than go there wishing I had it.
