Adequate Game Backup Testing Procedure? –

I know there is the compatibility guide here http://www.psjcl.com/ . But I've read of people getting different results and I have experience some as well.
So my question is; What are the best steps to ensure your game backup is good and working without playing through the whole game?
This is what I'm doing:
1) Back up the game
2) Start Game
3) Play about 5 minutes (try to get to a cut scene)
4) Save game
5) Quit to game main menu
6) Quit to XMB
7) Start Game
8) Load Game
9) Quit directly to XMB
Is there any else that should be done that would be easy and not take much time?

IN MY EXPERIENCE RIPPING THE GAME FROM THE ORIGINAL DISC USING A GOOD MANAGER IS THE BEST OPTION. I KNOW THERE ARE SOME GAMES THAT HAVE PROBLEMS AND REQUIRE EDITING/PATCHING AND THERE ARE SOME GAMES THAT DONT WORK AT ALL. DOWNLOADED GTA EPISODES FROM LIBERTY CITY AND IT CRASHED EVERYTIME I TRIED TO PLAY BUT I BORROWED MY PALS ORIGINAL COPY RIPPED IT ON MY PS3 AND IT WORKED FINE. I WOULD NOT GO FROM WHAT THAT WEBSITE SAYS WITHOUT TRYING A GAME FIRST.
