The 67.202.81.137 PSN trick seems to be officially not working. I'm on firmware 3.55 by the way. Dang this sucks. Is there any other DNS that we can use??

Happening to me too. Guess Sony figured us out. >.< Isn't there a way to set up our own DNS for this? I can't remember how.

With both tricks blocked, I'm wondering if $ony is simply stopping the trick from working, or actually utilizing the remote code execution and blocking any ps3 that doesn't have it. If it's the latter, then its more of a ban than a block, since they're actively detecting then blocking. Kinda nervous on this one. I want to know if someone with 3.56 can access online with the dns trick.

For the time being, set up xlink kia on your ps3. You can game online with others that are staying off ps3 servers. The only problem with xlink kai is that there aren't that many people on it, but with the dns trick blocked, I'm sure plenty will be on it now.

This is nothing new. It's definately a check they are doing. They probably flagged all ps3 using that dns also. Someone with a 3.56 that can check, would be great. However, we've been here be4.... we used the same DNS when we was on 3.41, so im pretty sure its just a implementation to their servers, thats detecting the DNS.

True, but I'm hoping they are just blocking that trick or even that specific dns (which would of course be better because a new dns trick could come out) and not running a check for remote code execution. The problem is that with the remote code execution they could implement a hard check with a flag or ban so easily. It could be as simple as running a math problem and checking the responce, and it would still be efective, lol.

This DNS trick is more or less like a kind of firewall that redirects address from PSN update checkup server to a different IP.

I'll play a lot of games first and then update my console to play online the games I bought.

Or, if you need your online fix that bad and can't wait, set up xlink kai on your ps3. Then you can game online again, and still have homebrew. This psn block won't last long, and anyone updating is being stupid, especially if it's just to play black ops, which you can play on xlink kai.
