I've heard of these new emulator disc on the PS2, one is "Donkey Kong collection", Zelda collection, and "Super Mario collection".

Does anyone know the quality of these three collections compared to other emulators?

? can you be a bit more specific please? I don't know what you mean by collection, but all of those roms have been playable on the ps2 ever since the SNES emulater was released....maybe not perfect, but in my experience game play, and sound were just about perfect.

I've got the SNES emulator. I was talking about the collection disc. The collection disc is a collection of one game (mario, donkey kong, or zelda) series only, not really a full emulator disc.

I'm thinking that since the disc only has Mario games on it, then they should run better than on a emulator with hundreds of games? I don't know if that makes sense.

Nope. It's not the amount of ROMS on the disc, it's just the emulator itself. I think SNES-Station runs quite well, but if it's not up to par for you (and for many it isn't) just run the emulator on your PC.

King of Dragons was always crap on there...As previously said it makes no difference how many roms on 1 disc ya got. I have all the USA roms, and even some JAP's on a 2 disc collection, and still the games run the same (most of them full speed..Few screwed up and laggy).

Why do some of the games on the SNES station work great, while others slow or no sound?

Do the emulators for the PC (or xbox) run just like the originals?

    thanx!

it depends on the emulator and the game. some games can use features that the emulator just can't run at full speed or fully support at all causing glitchy graphics. sometimes the rom dumps can also just be shitty which is a possile cause of lockups and glitchy graphics.

just look at the snes. there's mode 7, super fx 1 and 2, various other cartidges had additional hardware, there are various ways of rendering sprites and layering them, transparencies, different methods of producing audio, etc. so both the rom and the emulator have to work right if the game is to run perfectly.

and i dunno about the xbox, but there's a lot of pc emulators and some work very well, and some dont run worth squat speed-wise, and still others dont emulate the game properly.

Theres emus for the PC that work 100% for systems, and then as Prisoner mentioned theres emus that aren't worth crap...Theres very few games on SNESStation that I found didn't work properly, and I beleive I didn't come across any games that didn't have sound whatsoever....Sound was sometimes messed up/ laggy, and a couple games screwed up, BUT i'd say 98% of the games work great, and that's nothing to complain about....
