Would matrix VGA mode help me
Would matrix VGA mode help me –
My projector accepts component signals via a VGA port so i made a custom component to vga adapter and baught a ps2/xbox farmer component cable and set it up like this.
The quality it quite a bit better than composite and on games with progressive scan in the menuses it is even better so my question it if i enabled vga mode on a matrix infinity chip would it make other games without the option work in progressive scan or not
i don't know for sure, but according to matrix team, all ps2 games are running at vga resolution (640 x 480) at 60hz; thus, pal games (50hz) will run 20% faster than normal which can be a good thing or a bad thing
that said, i think vga mode is virtually a progressive mode in 4:3 aspect ratio of ntsc resolution aka 480p
i don't see how this will make games look better than progressive mode over component as long as connecting via components out is always progressive scan (which i am not sure about, but i don't see why not (640 x 240 @ 60hz aka 480i vs. 640 x 480 @ 30hz 480p)
only good thing about this is that you can use your pc monitor for gaming without composite->vga signal converter (you will still need to make a connection adaptor + green on sync signal to sync conversion which should be far easier & better quality than composite to vga)
so would this imporve ma projector picture anymore than it is coz at the moment i can play games in 480p-1080i if they have the option in the menue or the button combo like triangle and X at the begining.
a forummer here, tot31 managed to DIY thins vga cable..i saw him playing GOW through his PC lcd screen and honest to god, the graphics are waay better than xbox..god of war that is..one thing, the cable is not very stable..a bit laggy and sumtimes it lost signals..
