I am installing a mini apple pro and using about 24 guage wire. Can all my connections be of this size wire or do any need to be bigger size?

Yes and no, yes if you can wire to your points without having to go through any holes to the backside, or craming them together to solder them on pins. In my opinion the size is mostly for ease of installation, and the smallest that work, makes it that much easier.
Be warned though. It takes more heat to heat up the thicker wire with solder on it, so soldering it to the points could do damage if you arent carefull. Some of those points on the ps2 are not replacable, so if you sink a pad, youre through.
I advise waiting for the propper wire. I use 30AWG Kynar wire and it works awsome. Keep your 24 guage for the power and ground. 30AWG Kynar can be bought in 50ft spools at radio shack for about $3 and 100ft an be ordered only at www.digi-key.com for about $11+shipping+$5 fee(for orders less than $25)
Good luck, but in my opinion - I wouldent do it.
Thanks for the advise. I know which one the ground is but which is the power I am using the install diagram here
