Widescreen woes –
02-12-2005,07:07 PM
Hello! I just got a PS2 and I've noticed that many games have problems displaying on my TV. Its a 52" Hitachi WS RP-CRT monitor. It supports both 480i/p. I am using a high quality component video-out cable.
Certain games seem to always be off center, usually small black bars on the left and bottom sides. On games where there is an option to re-center it is no problem, but many do not have this. Anyone else have a widescreen TV with similar problems? It seems to happen no matter if the game has widescreen support or progressive scan. Any easy solutions short of getting a mod-chip that is flashable so I can use a bios with y-axis and x-axis fixes? (Currently have a Duo2SE).
Thanks for any advice!

Its model 5000-something, version 10 I beleive. Its the one with the built-in IR sensor and progressive scan DVD playback. Apparently the last one before the slim PS2.
