I was wondering why you guys open your Ps2 and install a new laser and just keepdoing it when one dies. When my first Ps2 (the first ones to come from Japan) started to get the Disc Read Error I called Sony. All I had to do is mail it to them and they fixed it for free, but it broke again after a little over a year. So, I called again sent it in again and this time I asked for a diffrent one and guess what? They sent me a brand new Ps2. Now this past year, the connector from the network adapter and the Ps2 pins got bent )from changing HDs to much I guess) I called Sony again, and they sent me another old version Ps2 that was Refurbished with all new parts. Also, they sent me any game I wanted for free. In the end I came out ahead! :p Also, every time they send you your ps2 back, they send you another controller! I have 6 now. :shhh:
So why buy a new laser when you can get it done for free?
