White Squares??

When I turn on my ps2, in the first screen ( with the blue background and a translucid cube ) there are 2 white squares beside the big translucid cube.
Those just appeared....I heard somewhere they appear and go away suddenly, apparently it has something to do with the ps2 clock.

Does anyone have any info ons these two white squares??

The more time you play your ps2, the more cubes appear. I think its the "system file" that appears on your memory card, but I'm not 100%.

I think you're right, because I just took my memory card off my ps2, and the cubes were gone!

Yea, that's normal.

It has something to do with the chip and the memory card drawing more power from the system than usual. The camera in 3D space that is used to show the scene has dollied back a bit more than usual.

If there is no chip in the system, then this does not occur.
