Where can i get PS2 Laser diode without the Case ?

Hi folks....does someone know who is selling only the ps2 laser diode chip not the whole lasers coz most common fault is a defective diode so why should i change the whole expensive laser ?

lol, seems like Im stalkin ya Snoop.. I keep postin where ever you are..

Anyways.. Auto your best bet is to check out your local Gamestop, Gamecrazy-what ever.. Check out your local game store and see if they have any used PS2's that there plannin on givin back to sony... I have a buddy that works at my game store and lets me have parts off of some non working PS2's.. So I just swap what I want...
great to have friends in low places ant it...
But as for sellers on the net... Hmmmm.. Only place I can think of off hand is Ebay.. Its worth a shot at least...

there is the laser diode on it, though it's a whole internal laser circuit... 23 bucks. it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it or not.

that is only the circuit board without the diode chip.
i made some research myself and found something here from england :

normally the metal ring as shown in the picture is not needed...just the little chip
