When to adjust laser pots
When to adjust laser pots –

When's a good scenario to adjust a laser pot? If a modded or unmodded ps2 doesen't read disks and has disk read errors, is it a good idea to adjust the pots as opposed to replacing the laser (if it has already been cleaned and still gets the errors)?
Whats everyones opinions on the subject from experience?
Thanks

yes, why not I mean if it doesn't work it's not like you risk breaking anything, it's dead anyway might as well try to fix it before shelling out $$ for a new one.

i'm almost in that position with my v4 ps2. it has problems with alot of discs i put in it and online play is out of the question because it'll desync alot. i don't notice any skipping during game play but it does have problems with reading sometimes. i want to flip the eye over and adjust the pots but i don't want to make it completely inoperable. my new slim pstwo reads them flawlessly and takes off a second after system boot.
