I was playing SOCOM for the first time the other day and was a little disappointed when I found out that you couldn't do the missions / scenarios in online co-op mode. I then looked into SOCOM II and its the same thing, only multiplayer scenarios where you play other people, nothing against the computer. I was really hoping you could get together with 2 or 3 friends and work your way through the story / missions. Are there any games out there like that? I think Champions of Norrath is like that, anything else. I'm looking for 2 - 3 player co-op online games but not sports games.

    Thanks.

I think the ultimate Co-Op online game for ps2 atm is Resident Evil: Outbreak. Its up to 4 players per game, without teamwork, no one will survive the scenarios. The only bad thing about the game is the lack of headset support, there is only implemented phrases you can say. Although, when your playing with friends, i guess its easier to communicate.

Champions of Norrath online play suck pretty bad IMO. It have so many problem that it's not really possible to enjoy.

I think ghost recon or ghost recon jungle storm lets you go through the mission co-op online.

and I think the new Syphon Filter that will be comming out soon is co-op online. you can do things with friends that you can't do alone like reaching higher places.

I was interested in this game but when I found out about the lack of communication I decided not to.

not adding headset support was a pure retarded move on thier part.

COn isn't bad. Really, I don't play many games online so I guess it's fine to me. I like to play games by myself, or with a freind really though.

I love online games, it's just too bad a lot of them are filled with jerks.

right now I'm addicted to steel battalion: line of contact (that game with the $200 controller) for the xbox. I like the online of this game for a few reasons. first, it's not region restricted so I can play with people from Europe, Japan, Canada, America and any other country that has the game. I've met some realy great people from other countrys so far with great senses of humor.

the second thing I like about it is that it has a small community compared to other online games. with the community being so small you play with the same people a good amount of the time. and with such a small community if you piss someone off you'll know it and so will everyone else which makes it hard to have fun because people start to black list you.

the third thing I like... you're piloting a 10 story 80 ton robot with big ass guns. missles and special weapons.. how can you not like that?
