What would you do? –
I recently installed matrix infinity in a V9 ps2. Everything works normally, both back up and original games load up just fine. The only problem is that it makes the grinding noise, so I replaced the laser guide arm that goes into the snake motor. Since my stupid @ss forgot to mark the default position of the gear, so now it won't read back up games.
When start up, the Matrix Infinity Logo is there, original games load up just fine, except the back up games. All I'm asking is what would you do next or does anyone has a diagram of a default position so I can adjust it accordingly? I spent hours blindly adjusting the gear but no progress so now I'm asking you experts for help.
Any help is much appreciated.
i it reads original cd and dvd games and doesnt read backups then ita chip problem, try a backup of a dvd movie, if it reads your backup movie then its definatly chip related.
as for the default position start with the small holes at 12 oclock.
I see. But how can it be the chip's fault when I see the Matrix Infinity Logo on the screen? I mean everything works, just that I changed the laser guide arm is when it all went down the drain.
what kind of media are you using
Verbatim +R burning at 4x.
It's just acting weird after I replaced the laser guide arm. It reads before, so that eliminates the media type. I tested with the same media.
there's no default position. the only way is to change the gear at small incrememnts (like 2 or 3 clicks) and find the optimum position - it can take a while!!
also first try a psx backup - the gear position is a lot less critical. if u can get psx games to boot then the chip is fine.
thanks. I gotta double check the BHGI joints as well...it's kinda suspicious.
Got it fixed!! the B & G joint is lose. Thanks for all the help.
My PSX game problem as seen here http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45480
