What would cause this?
I have a version4 PS2 with a messiah chip in it,i just replaced the laser eye and everything worked great for a day, Now it wont boot a game at all,The disc just sits there wont even spin,i put a game in and it just brings up the menue screen then i get cant read data, could it be i fried the motherboard? Would it be worth send out to someone to look at it or just junk it? Any advice would be great THX:confused:
There is a high possibility that the the replacement laser used was old and worn and that it was not adjusted well for the model you installed it in - if the supplier new it was a bad laser they could have adjusted the pots down real low so that it would initially work fine but would burn out quickly!
Always check and adjust the pots on a laser before powering up the station - should set them up to around 1200 ohms on both the DVD and CD side and only adjust back down if known working media does not work.

So you think its the eye then? I didnt put it in myself i had a installer do it.
