    Hi!

Take a really good quality of dvd-r (verbatim is my favorite) and 4x is the maximum speed to burn.

i would recommend you to use the lowest speed you can choose in your burning tool , because even at 4x speed some of my games dont work properly, so it is best , if you can use 2x speed

4x is MINIMUM reliable speed on high-quality-discs.

This suggestion entirely depends on the dvd-media.
Since Verbatim should be used in a PS2 , those should be burned with Auto/AWS, or 'Mid-Speed' of the disc...

That's true, but that's not the only thing.
    It is a combination of:

    -discs used
    -dvd-writer
    -dvd-writer-firmware
    -burning-application
    -ps2-laser
    ...

Btw.: @Thread-Starter: It's not about the console beeing used how good your discs are burned, just how well it can read them,... So normally,... The speed which works best on your Wii, should also works best on your PS2 (even thought the PS2's drive is very picky).

    IMGBURN always in 1x !!!

The final writing speed is NOT that one, is the result of : MEDIA, WRITER, PROGRAM.
You can read it while recording.

Setting IMGBURN at 1x you could be sure the average speed would be always max 4x, if using an external usb 3.3x.

    Use verbatim -r.

If your ps2 is too old, needs a clening, lub and laser `calibration`.
