    I guess your right.

The sounds are definately louder than the fan, but nothing astronomical. Just would be nice to lose em. Guess I gotta get a Hard Drive.

Just ordered a 200 Gb Seagate 7200 RPM 8 Mb cache. I have heard over and over that seagate make the most quiet hard drives. We will see. My 120Gb Maxtor in my Xbox, is whisper quiet and it is rated .4 bells louder than this Seagate Hardrive. So the Seagate should also be quiet.

Now, if it will work. There was a slight possibility that HD Loader won't recognize my drive, because of Ethernet Adapter/Hard Drive incompatibility. Hopefully I'll luck out. Two people said thier two same drives worked on the compatibility site.

Running PS2 DVD Drive cover off would be quite the same as using a flip top cover! But your PS2 can get dusty. Since it's only to see where the sound is coming from, it shouldn't be a problem. Your theory about the noises sounds logical to me.
