Here's a not so simple tutorial, but it at least will give you an idea of what needs to be done.

    1) Download a CD or DVD version copy of uLaunchELF (abbreviated as uLE) and burn it. uLE is a fileManager, ELF launcher, etc, which you will need to access and load other PS2 programs like Simple Media System (abbreviated as SMS), which allows you to play DivX/Xvid encoded videos.
    2) Download SMS (first link) from it's homepage, and put it on a USB key. If you don't have one, there are other ways of getting programs on your PS2.
    3) Insert USB key with SMS on it and the burned disc in your PS2, turn on, or restart your PS2 and uLE will load.
    4) press the Circle button (O) to access the fileBrowser in uLE from the main screen. Browse to the mass:/ folder and press Circle (O) again to access the contents of your USB key.
    5) Browse to where you placed the SMS file and press circle again to load SMS. While SMS is loading, it will check to see what you have inserted in your PS2 (USB key, CD/DVD, Hard Drive, Network). These icons appear at the top of the screen. If you want to access files off your USB key or network, you might first have to enable these options in the menu, which can be accessed by pressing the Start button and navigating into Device settings.
    6) Once you have USB enabled and USB key or a CD/DVD inserted with the DivX/Xvid movie on it, then you can back out of the menu by pressing the triangle button (/\) and press Left or Right to access the top device list. Select the device you have the movie on (USB or CD/DVD in this example) and press Circle button (O) to enter into that device.
    7) Navigate to the movie file and press Circle (O) to play the movie.

If all this is still too complicated for you, I can make a custom ISO file for you to burn to a CD that has uLE and SMS on it. Of course once you get uLE running, you can copy it to your memory card and start it using a controller shortcut button on booting up your PS2. You just would have to make sure uLE was named as BOOT.ELF (all uppercase) and make sure it's in one of the following locations when holding the shortcut button: R1 = "mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF", R2 = "mc0:BOOT/BOOT2.ELF", L2 = "mc0:BOOT/BOOT3.ELF". All filenames and folders on the memory card are case sensative.

Sorry I know it might still sound complicated without actually seeing it. Maybe searching on youtube would help you, I saw some there for SMS when I was searching there earlier. If I made any mistakes or something doesn't make sense, please forgive me, it's late and I'm already mentally retarded from badly needing sleep. ; D

Ok, as you requested, here is an ISO of uLaunchELF 4.38 and SMS 29 rev.2 in CD-ISO format for you to burn on a CD. I haven't tested it, since I don't want to use up a CD for nothing, but I used the same method I used to create uLE ISOs in the past, which worked fine, so there shouldn't be any problems. But please test it and let me know if there is any problem with it.
