weird problem

I got my ps2 chipped when i was in asia this summer and i dont really know what type of chip it is. It is the newer slim p2. I am going to open it to see what typ of chip it is but the thing is although the games work fine on it, I can't seem to watch any DVD movies on it. What do you think could be the problem and how do you think i can fix it?

Also, I bought a couple of backup games when I was in asia and they worked fine. Today i burned my first game on my mac using toast titanium (World Cup 2006) and it seemed to work when I put it in but it loaded jsut to the start showing the world cup logo of the game and then stalled. Do you think the 2 problem are related and if so or even if not. Could you help suggest any problem solving methods?

i think its super 7 chip (most cheaper chip mod used in asia). to play DVD movies, press and hold on/reset button for 3-4 sec..

When i hold the on/reset buttom for 3 seconds the system turns off. When I turn it back on it cant read the movie in it. Do you think this could be due to a faulty chip and if so what are the best ways to fix this problem.

hurmm...if then, try hold on/reset button for only in about 2 seconds.

the steps are:
1st- insert ur DVD movies (in off mode)
2nd- press and hold on/reset button for 2-3 sec (mine are about 3 sec)
3rd- release the button.

i think if the chip are bad(got faulty), most or maybe all of burned/pirates games couldnt run..

it didn't work. Any ideas on what my options are at this point?

He means with the console on standby (red light) and the disc inside, press and hold the power button until the intro screen comes up.

i tried that and it didnt work. i have absolutely no idea what is wrong or what is going on.

Crack it open to see what chip it is and we'll go from there.
