Version help

I recently aquired a PS2 from a friend and i cant find out what version it is ...

Serial -AU2751536
Model-SCPH-39001

But the reason i cant find out it has a date code of --2D!! please advise

Also im gonna buy a modchip which one is the best as far as price and what features should i want

39001 should be a v7 if I'm not mistaken.

Cool so i know every one is sick of everyone asking the same question but whats the best mod chip and why????? and can any one post any good sites to buy from

DMS3 would be the best imo. Because it's possible to upgrade the firmware and it has all features you would ever ask for.

There are lots of good installers on this forum from diffrent parts of the world depending on where you live. Check the thread on modchip installation pictures, should help you find a few.

dms3 is good along with the matrix infinity. i also like the ms2pro.
