haunted mansion uses some extra security methods, what it use im not sure, but other games that use the same i guess will fail also,im sure someone will know what it uses

turn the chip off, does the origanal boot then,if yes then theres your solution

First of all, Mars II is not that good chip for a v9. GET ANOTHER ONE.

I bought a premod a week ago and that guy gave me a Mars II premod, but it was having problem with some ps2 games (mentinoed below). So I got it changed to Magic V 50k premod.

Just like haunted mansion, there are more games what Mars II can't handle like Max Payne and Splinter Cell. Max Payne won't even boot. Splinter Cell when asked to save the game, after saving the game it goes straight to RSOD thats coz Splinter Cell "MAY BE" does a second check whether the media is original or not. I think Mars II v9 chip goes to sleep after booting the first file, i.e., starting the game up.

    Hope this helps.

    Bye for now.

Edit: Also, the games that I mentioned above, backup or original, work like a charm on my Magic V premod without that dreaded RSOD. (touchwood)

Yes, I have tested the Magic V with a Splinter Cell DVDR backup and no RSOD after create new save or loading from existing save.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.
