I triple checked every contact and made sure there was no bridges anywhere. I checked every fuse I could find on the board. Anyone have any ideas why the motherboard is not working? Also I think I heard noise on the audio line when it boots up to the blue screen.

After I removed the 6508RII fix it still does the exact same thing? Gear will not move the laser but after a few seconds I see the laser light flash once and then the fan will move just the slightest bit and stop. The lens does not move either, laser and coils are good and tested on another machine.

This V9?s got me stumped. I?ve fixed a few LA?s now with the BA fix board. All the ones I?ve fixed had just one coil short but this V9 had both coils fried and there was no laser light up at all with the BA fix (red PCB from Dabeano) but if I remember correctly the lens was focusing back then. But now with the LA6508RII from Likthangs it no longer focuses but lights up. This V9?s seriously messing with my head. And lights up without even the fix on board has me even more puzzled!?

relaxxx: i hear ya, sometimes those replacement 3rd party boards work and other times they don't. that is why we are starting to stock original LA6508 and not 3rd party.

Do you think the board just needs an original LA?

Can anyone tell me if these V9 symptoms I described on this board correspond to a good board with the LA chip disordered?

The fan is not even running which leads me to believe there?s more wrong with the board than just needing an original LA. Am I right or wrong?

if the fan doesnt move then there's def more wrong than just the LA. you sure you checked all the fuses? a few questions:
Is the board modded? was the romeo done before the la blew? has the laser been replaced?

Lasers replaced. It had a Magic 50K, now removed. Unless anyone has any insight into these particular symptoms I'll just have toss it. I've already spent more time on this board than it's worth.

I was thinking of one last attempt, what voltage does the fan run at? I see it comes directly from a regulator at the 12V power line. I know these Mobo's power the fan a few seconds after bootup. For some reason this regulator is not sending out any power, it's not shorted out either, I tested it.
