On the box of my new V9 it says it has build in IR, although i can't see it on the ps2.

I also found out, the i-link is missing, so i thought maby the IR is behind the blue plastic ??!!!

I tryed to use my Remote control without success, maby the reson that it's not working is that it's not original sony remote control?

    Does anyone has a clue?

    THnx

My official remote that i used on my old v3 ps2 works on my v10 without having to load anything on to the memory card. Are you sure you put batteries in it . Maybe it has to be official

Yeah, my official v1-7 remote works just fine. You just shouldn't install the DVD drivers that come with it, simply take it outta the box, put the batteries in it, and voila! It should work, and much better than the plug in one, it almost has 360 degree reception. And the IR thing is by the power and reset buttons, if you look right above the eject button there is a little symbol, that stands for IR, and that shiny piece between the eject and power buttons is the IR sensor itself. Gotta look real hard!

I don't understand why they had to remove the I-Link to put in the IR....no where close to where the link was! I believe it was just an excuse to get rid of it and lower costs since nothing but GT3 used it anyways. I wish they woulda used it a lil more, better transfer rates than a 10/100 LAN, but then again, having an I-Link hub to connect PS2's for a party would be annoying.

Yeah the old remote works fine. You just don't have the option to eject or power off your ps2 like the new remote has.
