    Does somebody know How to change the 39001 US version back to 39006 Asia Version ?

    Not a very well asked question I am afraid. ".. back to 39006..."?

    The firmware in the PS2 is region coded to other hardware so without ripping out a couple of components and replacing them with those from a 39006, the answer is no.

    Remember also that the 39006 has a PAL frame buffer to add to the issues (DVD drivers).

    I refer you to my earlier reply. Why "back"? It never was a 39006 if it is a 39001.

    Sorry, I mean is i bought the one original is 39001 and now i move back to asia and i want to re-write the firmwave to change my 39001 to 39006 , because i need the DVD region 3, do somebody can help me ... :-(

    Get either a DMS3, or Action Replay 2 V2. Both will allow you to watch your DVD movies.

    QQQAAA: i don't think many dvds there would have to be Region 3 coded, around the stores which have the original dvds are stores with them copied AND region free!
    what chip do you have? there is always a solution!
    you cannot change the firmware btw, otherwise you may **** up if you try, so i don't advise it....
    sell this ps2 in asia and get a HK one, if you're that impatient.. (not saying you are)
