One day i load up SOCOM, and on the choose connection screen, i try to open the connection edit menu, while it was loading, the PS2(v7) freezes and i noticed the blue eject light blink(without me pressing it) then it turns off, so i reset the console and ever since, when i turn it on, the screen flickers as if the system was to start up but nothing is displayed on the screen. and the blue light nevers come on anymore. Everything else works properly its just that. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to or replace in my system? I got my DSL service discon'ed for a month now i get it back and i still cant play SOCOM online!!

P.S., I was told that it could be a loose cable connection, but if it were true, the browser would boot up, would'nt it? Was he right or wrong?

    I'll appreciate any help! Thanks!!

No, what im trying to say is that when i press the red standby button, it turns green as normal, but the blue light never turns on, and you know how the tv flickers when you turn the ps2 on, then the browser stats up, it flickers, but nothing starts up, the screen stays black, as if the system was off. So the green light comes on, just no display and no blue light, AT ALL.

    thanks dude.

so would i have to replace both the chip and the fuse, or just the blown fuse? and do you have a picture of a v7 motherboard so i can map it out and know what fuse/chip i will have to replace?

If the fuse is bad, then probably the BA IC also has burnt. To chech it, with a multimeter test pin 8 and ground.

    regards, Stephen
