V7 Boots CD's but no DVD's (either orgs,backups or video) any pointers?

Hi,

Like the subject stated, I have here a PS2 V7 (from a friend) which was working perfectly, chipped it with an 02MOD, but then their dog ran it from the table

dropping it on the floor quite hard.

Now it only boots CD's (either PSX or PS2). It doesn't boot DVD's, it comes up with a read error on either DVD originals or backups, even with the modchip disabled. Tried booting a video DVD same result, read error.

I tried tweaking the DVD laser, no luck.

Any suggestions?

mine did that for about a week then read nothing... I'm looking to replace the lase in the future.... but in the mean time went and got a v10

sounds like you need to replace the laser - a hard fall will easily damage it.
