V5 PS2 Unmodded Eject Problems
Hi,
I got a dead PS2 from a friend. Unit didn't power up at all. I swapped the power supply and it worked, hell it worked great. It read everything I threw at it from Blue disc's to DVD9's.
I had a Matrix Infinity Green Dot sitting on the shelf so I decided I was gonna chip this thing and sell it in college. I only soldered the 3.3v, SX, Y, Reset, and Ground before I changed my mind. I just didn't feel like doing it so I desoldered everything and put it back together. I then fired it up. I hit the eject button and the tray opened. I put a disc in and hit the eject button again. The tray closed only to open again by itself. I hit the eject button again and nothing happend. I shut the system off and turned it back on and the tray went back in as it should. Now the pig won't open again.
I've tried 3 different Power/Eject switches and cables. All LED's work as they should. It's like the PS2 isn't receiving the EJECT signal. What could cause this? :-pray: Please don't say BA chip:-pray:
EDIT**
Also hitting the eject button while in standbye does NOT turn the PS2 on like it should.
