v4 won't detect network adapter

My ps2 won't detect my network adapter. I have tired everything even a firends network adapter and it still would not work. Any ideas my ps2 is stock no upgrades or anything except for the fact that i have an hd for it.

1. how do you know its not detected? it wont show in the browser screen.

2. do you want to play online or just for hdloader?

Yea it doesn't show in the browser screen and socoom 2 would not detect it and yes i want to play online and use hdloader
