V4 laser problem –
02-10-2005,03:39 PM
I have a chipped v4 ps2 and I just installed a new laser yesterday. Today when I was testing it it booted a game fine when i tryed to repeat the test it didn't boot. I tryed an original game it would't boot. Now it boot cd-r backups but not dvd originals or backups. When put a game in I can see the lense of the laser going up and down continuosly and its making a clicking noise. Did i mess up my new laser or is there something i can do.
Thank you

what chip do you have....some older chips had a bad effect on some versions preformace. But actually i would say the laser may still need to be realigned. If it boots somehting then its most likly installed correctally and is correct version just needs tuned.

Did you try cleaning the laser? Doing this gave me awesome results when I was having probs booting games. After doing this also made my ps2 start booting AVB DVD-R's everytime instead of one in like 20 tries.
