V3-gh007,BA chips....do they require heat pads?

Just wondering if these need heat pads,I found something that looks like a largeish heat pad that could be connected to both chips but I am unsure if it was even off this particular console.

i have a v3 that, unless sony took them away when i sent it in to be fixed like 2 years ago, never had any, and it works fine. I do know what your talking about though, the large black thing, cuz my friend has a v3 that i modded that has those pads, and it too works fine. I guess, if you play it for a very extended length of time, the thing freezes, but otherwise, it works fine. As long as you still have them, and even if you dont, i would say the thing should be fine

yeah I have it,but it has lost its adhesion and won't hold and as sony are know for flimsy parts the thing snapped under my hand,so its in 2 broken parts and they won't stick.....guess I'll test and see if they get particularly hot I'll buy some heat pads for it..
