Received a ps2 to fix for someone today. Apparantly its the second laser thats died. The guy said the Summ0ne fix had been applied, which I thought strange at the time.

Anyway, opened it up and the guy had put a 560Kohm resistor instead of a 560 Ohm resistor. That explains why theres been 2 dead lasers. I put the correct resistor in and put a brand new laser in.

Laser is having great difficulty reading a disc still, tried 3 different brand new lasers. I don't know how to describe it, but it sounds a bit like when you get a dead LA on a v9/v10.

It has booted the odd game but very slowly and after much chew.

I can't see 3 lasers being faulty so is there anything else that I should be checking?
