use dust off and blow the board down chek fuse p13 with multi meeter on continuity no beep on P13 = dead replace with same SMT fuse i think its .4a chek the diagrams in the modchip sec.. its pined. you can always brige it but if sumthing els was rong it will catch on fire.. I fp13 is not dead then smell your laser if it has a funny smell then its Dead and your Rs2004 is also dead at that point it might be best to scrap the sucker or blow $40+ on parts from dive.
Good luck and godspeed..
PS13 has continuity!
any other ideas?
check all other fuses using diagram from mod forum.. if the les of the laser is glossy then its dead take a good sniff and see if it has a funny smell if so it is dead look at post above you.. Use the dust off helps remove junk on the board if still not working remove chip and wires clen all points with wic and retry if still bad buy new laser and a Rs2004 just incase new laser is still no spin. The V12 are crap ive had 2 lasers die on me i test b4 install and test after then they die b4 i reach my 2hr test fase.. Thank god people are so cool when i tell them they usaly dont mind wating for a new one or they jsut get a Fat ps2 and junk ther crap slim sys for 15 on e-bay
So, what are the odds that the Rs2004 dies? You are the only one that consistently says check the rs. Per my other post, I am hoping that the Summone fix will help prevent the laser from burning out. I also read somewhere that the first batches of V12 had suspect lasers due to manufacturing issues with the lasers that has since been corrected. I also understand that Sony has taken steps with the newer slim lines (i.e. V13 and V14) to fix this problem. So, my thoughts are that the slim can be salvaged.
Also, I think dead v12's are going for between $25 and $35 on ebay at the moment. If you have any for $15, I will buy (warranty seal intact of course).
rs wuld die if bad summon fix was aplyed i have seen this...
Well, I can certainly understand that scenario! Thanks.
