guys, i'm ripping my hair out over this...i will admit, i'm a noob at this stuff, but after modding my ps2, there seems to be no power going to it. i have checked all of the fuses, which seem to be fine, nothing seems to be bridged either. i installed a dms4 lite, with summ0ne fix, and vandrunen fix. this is driving me crazy, especially since when i plug it in and put my ear near the board, i can hear a slight whine of electricity running through something. please someone help me with this!

The only time this ever happened to me is when I connected a 5v chip to a 3.3 power source. Soon as I disconnected the power lead, the standby light came on. Connected it to a 5v point, voila!

    Good luck.

completely disconnect the modchip, just removing power and ground from the chip wont make the system work as before.

I have the same problem. The reset/standby button seems to be connected fine, and there are no shorts. Yet I still don't see a red standby light.

Is there anything else than can cause no power other than blown fuses or the power button?

I just noticed that the 3.3V line reads only 1.05V. Is this bad?

When I unplugged the modem it rose to 1.26V, but that's still far from 3.3V.

Could a voltage regulator have gone bad? Are there any other lines like 5V I could test? Any help would be appreciated.

I checked the 5V line, and it's around 0.3V. The only place I see real voltage is from the power supply, 8.64V.

Any ideas on what I could check?
