Using PSX gameshark on PS2

Hi - recently Ive been replaying alot of old ps1 game on my ps2(like tavtivs ogre and FFT) and decided Id like to cheat but after going and finding a gameshark image off the net(2 infact) I have the same problem. My gameshark boots fine - I add my codes - I goto luanch game and it doesnt launch, The first gameshark said "Cannot find system.cfg" and the second just goes black and stays black. Im assumeing the the same problem. The GS I used was GSCD(a homebrew made by ???). I tried it on every ps1 backup I have to so its not the games. My modchip uses the eject to switch modes method so I cant just use a PS2 gs I think(becuase its locked in PS2 mode?) I was wondering if anyone has had problems like this and maby even a solution.

You know that getting the image of the net is illegal

Do you know what chip you are using seeing as not all of them support GameShark.

Do you know where I can find a list of GS compatible chips? Its been so long since I got mine in I cant remember - I wanna say MagicSomthing.... god only knows the version....2.16 is comes to mind....

True about the second GS image I mentioned.... I removed it now from my post but the other GS image was a homebrew.

It sounds like you have a Magic 3 they werent compatible with GS,or atleast not with the PSone version.

There isnt a list but:
All the newer chips like Matrix infinety,Crystal Chip ect... Should support it.
