Using a PS2 on an LCD monitor.
Using a PS2 on an LCD monitor. –
Question for you A/V gurus out there...
I have a 19 inch Benq LCD monitor and I would like to connect my PS2 to it via the 3 color component cable.
I was wondering if I would be able to buy this converter and attach the PS2 directly to the LCD without the use of my video in on the video card of my PC:
I own a BFG 7800GTX with VIVO but...I have no software that would allow me to use the component input. Now that I think of it, the card comes with an unmarked cable that has female component connectors but I'm not really sure if they're inputs or outputs. Not to mention Geforce 7 series WDM drivers are not even out, I tried with the 6 series and no software allows me to select the component input, just composite and svideo.
If any one knows if I can simply buy a component to dvi connector and attach it to the LCD without using my video card, any advice of any type would be a big help. Thanks.
I am using ATI all in wonder 9600XT with Tv tuner. COnnected with S cable. Works perfect!
i've been wondering the same thing. I have a 17" lcd and dont have money to buy a tv for my room. I hate playing in my living room and fighting with my parents for tv. I only play socom games(socom3 now). I play in high definishion(480P), so i wanted to know if i could use this to connect my ps2 to my monitor. http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...ducts_id=4233&
earthlord : DScaler is probably what you are looking for.
Does it work when we play Crisis Zone?
If your LCD monitor has input for Component, S-Video or Composite signals, then you can use those directly from the PS2 without getting a adapter. If it only has VGA and DVI connectors, then you'd need an adapter.
the problem is that it'll look pretty bad on the LCD monitor. i play some ps2 demos in Bestbuy with a LCD TV and it looked really pixalated/aliased because LCD doesnt have the scan-lines that burrs the low resolution of console games. try to play a pc game with 640X480 resolution and you'll see what i mean.
