    Hi!

My bro has got an external HDD. I created a partition as a fat32 file system.

Now I wonder - Can I access movies and music with my PS2 (SMS) over network? If yes, what need to be done?

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah but you need to make sure the folder you want is shared on your computer. You also need to change the network settings in SMS to have it connect to your network.

That link will tell you everything you need to know.

I want to use 2 computers as machines since the HDD might be moving around here between me and my bro.

Can I add more than one server to the file?

What is "Name of the SMB server"? //The computer's name I guess...?

// I wonder - Isn't is possible to access the files simply through the windows file sharing system / TCP/IP somehow?

// I have moved the file but I cannot change the the network protocol in SMS. It is something with boot/

Name of the SMB server would be the name of the folder you are sharing from the PC. I really don't know if you can add more than one server but you can try giving both the PC's the same IP address as a start and have the same shared folder names. I don't think you need to use text editing to change the network settings for SMS, you can change that within SMS itself.

"I don't think you need to use text editing to change the network settings for SMS, you can change that within SMS itself." I tried but I wasnt able to do so.

I thought the SMB server name is the computer's name?

You need to have PS2client.exe running on your computer. There is a GUI version that allows you to easily add directories. I have gotten it to add my HDD but for some reason it will not let me browse my files.
