!URGENT! Need help with cd tray

EDIT: Firstly YES I did search.

I just finished playing some demo on the new disc I recieved, reset my console, ejected the disc, put my ps1 game in to boot the exploit and NOTHING! :mad: Well not nothing the cd tray goes in, waits a bit and then comes back out, the whoole time the blue light is flashing. I thought it might have something to do with my hdd, so I removed the N/A and tried again, same prob. :mad:

I have no mod-chip or use any form of slide card or flip-top.
The model is SCPH-39002, I've had it for years and this has NEVER happened b4. :banghead:

If I must open up my console to fix the prob tell me everything I need to know, like what screw drivers to use, where the screws are and what to touch inside.

All help will be helpfull.

You could send it in to Sony and have them repair it. If you are going to fix it. You will need a phillips head screw driver in a normal size and a mini screw driver kit so you can access the drives. Make sure you dont look into the lens. It could be a chip gone wrong. There might be some expert because I'm not good at the ps2. I hope this helps.

I'm not going to send to sony as it'll cost me alot which I don't have. I've already open it up waiting for a reply but have no idea what to play with :crazy:

I was having a problem playing a lot of games, I kept getting "Disc Read Error" so I opened up my PS2 and cleaned the laser with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. So far so good, it reads scratched games 10x better then before. Give it a try.

Be gentle with it and be sure to dry it with the dry end of the q-tip after cleaning with the wet (alcohol'd) side.

I'm quite sure you don't understand what my problem is, it is not that I'm getting "Disc Read Errors" the cd tray itself doesn't stay in. I opened it up a watched what happened on the inside. I'll do my best to explain:
I plug the main power in, turn on and the red led comes on. I press the reset button to turn on the PS2. It makes a noise like a motor going but I see nothing moving, then the laser drops down and the tray comes out by itself. I press the eject button and they tray goes in, laser unit raises itself back up, then it makes the same noise as before, the disc motor doesn't move and spits the tray back at out. I can press the eject button to make the tray go back in, but all it does is repeat what I've said exactly the same every time.

I'm taking it to a local modder/repair today and get then to have a look at it.
