uLE and Swap Magic [1 Question]
uLE and Swap Magic [1 Question] –
Hello Psx-Scene Community!
(not sure if this is the right forum/subforum, I'm sorry moderators!)
I've still haven't gotten my ps2 slim V12 modded yet, but I am going to borrow my cousin's PS2 Phat to install FMCB (using Multi Install, with the method of Ps1 Exploit and Independence Compiler, using Gameshark2 v1.1).
So far, I've made a PS2 backup of my game, (Destroy All Humans! 2) and I forgot to ESR patch it.
Using ULaunchElf, is it possible to boot SwapMagic 3.6 with its .ELF file?
If so, then where would I be able to get a .ELF file of SwapMagic 3.6?
If not, is there any other recommended way to get my backup to play? (besides reburning once the iso file is patched, since i don't wanna waste Discs )
Thank you for your time for reading this!
You won't be able to run swapmagic 3.6 elf with uLaunch. A few year ago swapmagic 3.3 & 3.8 elfs were out there and confirmed working. Try using cogswap its free. Their is a way of doing a swap trick with uLaunch but i can't remember how to do it.
If you really want to play with "Swapping" ---but do not want to buy Expensive as I understand from my own experience Swap Magic discs (Price of Discs+ Shipping----Expensive)-----You can use instead ----FMCB. From FMCB launch Cogswap.elf ---(CogSwapLoader V1.0 by Hermes)--- and insert in ps2--- "Original Licensed PS2 Game" with High TOC (High TOC--means the Biggest size of game you can find) --- . Cogswap will show that PS2 Game is in drive.
Press X on gamepad -----the colour will change from yellow to blue and it will say "Use CogSwap".
So now depending on PS2 you got---slim or fat -------SWAP the ps2 game disc---- with backup. But remember that in slim ps2 you have to block sensors or use Flip Top Cover for slim and in Fat ps2 you have to use whether Slide card or also Flip Top Cover for FAT PS2 in order for Swapping to work.
In other words COGSWAP---it is free alternative to SWAP MAGIC.
I just wondering like how many versions of CogSwap were released by Hermes ? Or there was only one version 1.0 released ?
Also if to talk about game compatibility----what has higher game compatibility--- (Or better say Higher Backup Compatibility) ---- Swap Magic or Cogswap ?
Anyway --you need FMCB, COGSWAP.elf and ORIGINAL PS2 GAME DVD with the biggest size you can find---and method to make system think that backup is original game---I would recommend Flip Top Cover.
Remember--You do not need any more PS1 Game in order to launch COGSWAP, You can launch Cogswap.elf from FMCB
Here is a video tutorial how to swap discs with CogSwap:
