is there a way to turn the ps2 on without the on/eject switch

My ribbon has been damaged severly and now my ps2 doesn't turn on.

There has to be another switch, because the on / eject switch is connected to the motherboard. please tell me there is...

ok but the ribbon that connects the on/eject button was ripped into 2 and i removed out of the ps2 would the remote still work??

currently i don't have the remote but i'm gonna go and buy it.

i dont think so ...

i thought you needed a good connection to the front panel for the ps2 to operate atall ....
