Is it me or is this game just plain buggy. Even when playing off the disc, it seems to almost come to a halt sometimes during gameplay (framerate drops dramatically).

Also, I've got it working on HDL with modes 1+3 enabled, but it still crashes if you leave it alone too long after a race. The screen just goes gray and it starts randomly playing music, or at least parts of the music tracks.

As for the gameplay, other than the terrible framerates, the car models suck pretty hard (IMHO) and the physics seem off. And there doesn't seem to be much point to playing the arcade mode other than to drive around the same boring tracks over and over again.

yeah it does sound pretty neat but then when I read that it only have like 40 cars...that ain't gonna work...I can't play just 40 cars...If a game only have 40 cars, they better have other things in there that makes up for it....I mean GranTurismo series have 100+ cars and a sh!t load of stuff...

All the reviews I've read about this game are negative. I went to EB this weekend and overheard the cashier dude telling a customer that this is THE BEST street racing game ever.. better than NFS:underground. Now from all the reviews I've read I doubt this stupid guy knew what he was talking about. How can there be such extreme opinions?

I gave up on trying to play it from HDL, and just played off the disc for an hour or so. I guess you could call it fun, but I really don't see how anyone could compare it to NFS:U. Mind you, I still have only played in the "arcade" mode, but I think that the slowdowns during lots of on-screen action are unacceptible. Especially considering that you now have to worry about smacking your car into walls and stuff. Even a brief slowdown (or pause) is enough to make you run headlong into a wall.

Now, Burnout 3: Takedown is much more like what I expect from a racing game. Being from EA, it handles a lot like NFS:U, there are a lot of cars to choose from, and the tracks are pretty good to boot.

SRS is just a bad ripoff of NFS:U, afterall.

like i said, its a kool game.... its toyko extream zero , mixed with underground mixed with burnout 1 ......

toyko extream zero: fully costomize car
    underground: graphics
burnout:: the whole thign with the pooint from near misses get u points.

u cant expect it to be just liek any other game... it has its differences. i like it and enjoy iyt just as much as underground and even while smasdhing thru cones and hitting another racing car while 3 traffic cars are in the frame shot did not slow me down at allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll ........ been playing for 6 days and have not experianced a slow down at all.

SRS is like NFS:U slowed down. At least i NFS:U it was fun to see my car fly if I hit a wall or oncoming car. I could go 160mph and hit a wall in SRS and only move back a couple feet, and continue like nothing happened. I didn't like the game too much. The "NOS" effect is wack too, like a cheap imitiation of F&F/NFS:U.
