Strange ps2 eject and light problem.
Strange ps2 eject and light problem. –
I chipped my mechine exactly two weeks ago ,Its a V10 and chipped woth a MI(running FW 1.39) and I installed a network and hdd into it aswell,it worked perfectly for the first week or so then out of the blue the the eject led(blue one) started turning itself on while the mechine was in standby,it basicly fades in(starts very low and gets brighter in about a hour),now last night the mechine started randomly ejecting while in a game(tested about 4 games),I have checked the motherboard and there was no soldersplaters,or bad solderd pionts on it.
This is really strange, and extreemly irretating,I just want to know if enaybody ever encounted the same problem.
Im thinking that it might be a burned/bad resistor but Im not sure.

Reason: Added some more detail in the title
I'll be first..., did you do the romeo mod?
No romeo,I dont read cd's directly from the mechine I use hddloader and network the imeges accross thats why I didnt do romeo, also the LA seems to be fine the mechine still boots games from cd/dvd without enay problem except for randomly ejecting, and the almost permanent blue eject light.
Ps it ejects from within hddloader and from cd aswell.
I was going to post this topic too but I didn't. I got a V1 that got the same problem. Turn on fine, insert the original dvd fine, load the game, ask for the ps2 memory, then continue without memory then suddenly, the tray Eject in/out which I couldn't even stop it. Just in/out like every 2 mins or something. I still have no idea what's going on.
Is at at the exact same spot each time Warclock?
Becouse mine does it randomly ,everyting from 4 mins to 40.
I will try to take the mechine apart to night and clean the board with some acetone or alchole, maybe that will help.
Turn on, fine, no problem. Only happen after insert the disc and boot up couple mins, then Eject in/out automatic occurs. Even I took the disc out, it did the same without disc until I turned it off. No problem with the Reset On/Off.
This might sound very stupid, but seeing as it is a v1 it might be true,is it fitted with a neo1 ,the neo 1 chip use to do a similar thing to allow you to swop a backup disc for a inport?
I think I sorted it out, when looking at it from under a magnefying glass I saw that one of the ic's soldering pionts looked dry,so I resoldered it and the mechine has been working a 100% ever since
The attached picture shows the IC marked with red.
