Sony DVD Player upgrade for ps2

I was reading the manuals in dms3 site and i noted this "....PS2 Utility Discs (like the DVD Player upgrade disc that comes with the Sony DVD Remote)....."

Can we upgrade the DVD player of ps2 I have version 2.10 E can I upgrade this to the last version?

I think it is 2.30 ?

Sure, but you will perhaps need to disable the chip before upgrading otherwise it might not boot.

I haven't no chip installed (YET! ehehe) hOW can i upgrade the DVD player?

I would say that you could buy a sony DVD remote to get updated driver.

yep that i understand but we can not just download and burn to a CD-R and (with chip) boot in the ps2?? If yes anyone know a site where we can do this? Or if in the official site they talk about this?

Last time I heard the Sony remote was shipping with 2.10 (in the UK at least)

But cd-r don't work with ps2 without chip arghh.........
