    Hello,

I have been using ps2's for a few years, I am now on my 3rd console.

I am in the market for a modchip but I need a few questions answered:

    - How can I tell what version of PS2 I have
    - What is the best modchip

    I have a slim-line PS2 (model number SCPH-70002).

Basically I want a chip that does the following

    - Play back-up copies of my PS2 games
    - Play back-up copies of my PS1 games
    - Make the DVD region free
    - Ability of some stealth mode so I can still use it on-line

I have been looking at the Matrix Infinity but I don't know where to start. If some people could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You have a v12 - can be easily modded but better use the laser fix as well. The v12's can have issues without the laser mod. You can't go wrong with the MI - I'll do all of the above.

    OK cool

It turns out this is my second slim-line PS2 as the other ones laser stuffed up and went back to Sony for a warranty job, I am getting it done by a game repair company in my city so they should know what they are doing.

    Thanks
