Softmodding PS2 to play bruned games

Ok i am new to this PS2 modding i just wondering is it possible to softmod a PS2 to play burned games

I am not talking about using a harddrive and network adapter, like just softmodding it and thn burning a game to dvd or cd and then it would read it

if not can u tell me the way to i can mod a ps2 to play burned games

-Memor32+Memento - selfbooting memory card with backup booting etc.
-"independence exploit" with Cogswap program - selfbooting memory card with aid of PSX disc, with backup-booter
-Swap Magic - One disc, one swap
-There's something else similar like Swap magic too, AR or something.

theres also HD Loader right?....convert gmaes on your External HDD run a start up disk in the ps2 and play games off your HDD, so this also saves the laser on your system

google the "independence exploit" if the unit is a non-slim ps2. memor32 and memento firmware is needed if it is a slim.

well you see the think is i don't want to use a harddrive to copy games i want to just load backups
for example my friend has a modded ps2 ( chip) and wel he just copy games and put thm in the tray and they read that want i wanna do but using a SOFTmod i don;t wanna do a chiped mod

ok so i have to do all that to get it to read a backup correct. want i wanted 2 know is if i can do a softmod that only entail burning the game to cd or dvd and then putting it into the driveand it will read like the hardmodded ps2

i guess that can;t happen
