I got a PS2 from a buddy. Its a phat one. I know I can watch Xvid videos, play games from usb or burn my own, and im sure theres plenty of other stuff I can do. I need the 411 on the sickest stuff I can do with this console. If you could also link to a tut, that would be fantastic. I'm new to the playstation deal "always went with xbox". So, take it easy on the n00b!!

OK well first off, welcome to the site..
There are many " sick " things you can do with a PS2, most of which you will have to read up on for yourself.
To be able to do any extra stuff on your PS2 you will need FMCB
check link in my signature on tutorials.
And browse around the forums here, and read, read, read. ;)

Wow, thanks for the prompt reply. So, ill start with fmcb. I actually did do a little research on playing backups and all trails ended up leaning towards getting swapmagic. Is this a good idea or something I can avoid?
You can get swap magic if you want, me personally thank it a waste of money ($25-$30). Most buy it to just install FMCB. Not really needed. Except
for a few games not compatible with FMCB/ ESR.
When you can mail your MC to one are installers here and we can do the install for you only charging only the shipping to and from. ($2-$4)

I dont mean to thread jack, but is it possible to install McBoot to a memory card from pc using the adapter for hooking up memory cards to the ps3?

iwould4adollar, there are people on the forums that will install FMCB for you if you send them your mc and pay for shipping to and from, cheaper then swapmagic or any other method so far, unless you own a game that can do the swap trick, or a gameshark/codebreaker/whatever else that can work already.
