Hi, I have recently discovered the retro joy of SNES roms on the ps2, I am waiting to download a whole lt of roms. Can anyone tell me how many roms approx will fit on a cd and if the only limitation is disc space or does the snes station emulator have a maximum number it can handle. Also, can I burn a dvd instead of a cdr full of roms and use this with snes station ? can the informed please advise? many thanks.
Welcome to the site.
I wouldent worry about DVD burning, just stick with CDRs. Its cheaper for the amount of updates, and various games youll be adding/deleting, and its easier on your laser to read from CDs in my opinion anyway. Since iver started using the SNES Station, theres allready been 3 updates.
I fit about 450 roms on a CD unzipped, though I think the SNES station can run off unzipped files now so there may be a chance to fit more. After taking all that time to unzip them, Im not going to bother, its nothing to have two CDrs in a double case with all my roms.
Good luck, and there is a section in the forums for Emulators and stuff like that. You can find more info on questions like this in there.
I am just looking over this...and the SNES Station can read ZIPPED roms, and that is(for me anyway) about 850 roms on one CD, and winrar has the ability to zip each individual file to its own archive just by selecting all of them, takes mere seconds...
