Slow loading ?

I've softmodded my ps2 with the Agent Under Fire trick succesfully, but when i play a game, they are really slow, like when it gets to a cinematic, i have to wait like a minute until the screen appears back.

I have the fat ps2, the the oldest one. Does anyone can help me out ? Any settings i can change ?

Scan your burned disc for correctable errors.

It could be one of those things:
-weakened laser (quite common in those old versions)
-wrong disc-manufacturer/type
-wrong write-speed (either to fast, or to slow)
-old dvd-writer
-old or simply not good software (firmware of the dvd-writer, or burning-app)
-...

My laser is not weakened since when i use an original ps2 game, it works pretty quickly. Im burning my games with IMGBURN at speed 2x. My DVDs are Phillips DVD-R.

Any tips on what i should do ?

2 x is too slow. recomended is half the speed of the disks. i.e. if they are 16x disks burn them at 8x .

1. Try the 'AWS-Speed'-Setting.
2. Burn your games on '1st-class-media'.
I'm not sure if Phillips produces good DVD-Rs (even thought, they invented the CD&DVD). Verbatim DVD-R 16xCertified AZO and Tayo Yuden are usually a good choice.
3. What about your DVD-writer? Old DVD-Writers usually produce more errors on newer media (which are produced for higher write-speeds).
