Slimline ps2 help

Hi all and thanks for a great site, i have got a slim ps2 SCPH 75001, AND I install a chipmod h20 Pro chip in it and all happens is when it boots,i get PLEASE INSERT A PS1 OR PS 2 FORMATED DISC,Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.I think its a version 15.

it sounds like an install problem, recheck all wiring and double check no wires in wrong place (quite easy to do)
you are positive you have the new h20 as the old ones only work to v13

yea i would do that too.. check if any wires are desoldered, coz sometime it looks like its fine, but when you put the case back together the wire may go off

Hi and thanks for the reply, yes i think its the newh20 pro chip its got a Blue circuit board and two chips on it, i did the recheck and even resolder the wires and i am still getting the PLEASE INSERT A PLAYSTATION OR PLAYSTATION 2 FORMAT DISC,I NOTICED on the version 14 installation it says to jumper two legs on the chip of the modchip,do i have to do that on this slim version 15.Thanks again.

well its got 2 chips and a blue board. that means it could be a h20 modchip, but what type??
if it aint got a orange dot near one of the corners on top of it then it aint gonna work on your ps2.
so basically if theres no orange dot, dont waste your time looking around for problems, the chip is your problem, get a new one that is suitable for your console.

you dont say where you are but yes if its a US console you have to bridge pin 8 and 9 but if that doesnt work I would say you have an old batch of chip that only works to V13

Hi, and many thanks to all that helped me,and sorry for not explaining in details,but yes i am in north america and i did bridge pin 8&9 i i managed to get it to work now,but it reads copy games in black and white,i did see the ps2 image says Pal,could that be why its reading in black&white,thanks again

Yes, if you have a NTSC set and are trying to play a PAL game, then it is going to come out in black and white. Use http://www.geocities.com/jayteemaste...fix_source.zip to patch the game and you should be good to go.
