Should I mod My V4????? help me!!!

I got one of the ealier version that came bundle with the first generation of Gran Turismo 3:Aspec....so the laser is getting weak i think...Most of my games are not playable...i can still watch some DVD movies...but that's it....newer games don't even work...with it....I think it's a version 4.......

so here was my "solution"..or what i wanted to do....

I was gonna pawn it since i already had a version 7....but i was thinking....if I put a magic or messiah in there....will it help the system to play new games again........

if it didn't...can I turn all my games into backup....will this work??

yall expert gotta help me on this...because that
"piece of shit 2(ps2)" is can do nothing....

Adding a mod will not make your originals play any better or play backups any better than your originals. Your laser needs to be able to play originals to have any chance with backups, as they have a lower reflectivity. Try adjusting your laser to see if you can get it to play originals then sell it.

It can only make matters worse actually

When you mod the system, it drops the frequency on the laser, thus making it slightly weaker than it was originally.

This normally won't make an anywhere near noticible difference, but in cases like yours, it can sometimes render the PS2 unusable, until you take the chip back out again.

How the **** is that dying already anyway ? I have one of the first V1 consoles that came out of Japan, and that still works almost flawlessly, despite that hammering that I have given to it overtime, and as most people will tell you, V3 consoles are far better made than their V1 counterparts.

I guess i won't mod it then....the reason it's like this is because...in my house...there's alot of dust...of course..lots of kids...so that's why....well...now..

so...how do i do the laser thingy....??

Your laser could just need a cleaning then. Run a cleaning disc through your ps2.

almost seems like a daily occurence that people dont stop to think that maybe the precision manufactured piece of glass used to focus and receive a beam of light measured in nanometers might be dirty.

almost makes me wanna buy "broken" ps2's so i can just clean the laser and re-sell 'em as used.

Have a cleaning disc....it use to work after a cleaning session..but then it begin to work less and less....I guess i'll just have to actually opens it up and get the dust out myself....well...thanks for the advice...guys

Maybe i'll try that...forgot all about the laser...I always thought it was the game...disc...that they are too new...haha..how silly...

guess it's my own fault for not keeping it cleann....oh..well
